Sesame Broccoli

YIELDS: 1 Brocolli floret

COMMENT: I undercooked the veg. Sauce tasted mustardy-soy saucey. I added starch and the sauce was too few for the veggies. Next time add more water or add more sauce ingr

CHANGES:
use less 1 T yellow mustard = 1/4 t dry mustard
approx 3 t sugar = 2 t sugar
1 Red bell pepper

EQUPIMENT: Steamer, saucpan

PROCEDURE:
1. Place airpot water into steamer, place imm all the veg (w/o waiting for it to boil) Steam for 5min --->undercooked! But i already plunged it in cold water. Then i steam again for less than 4min (?) but still underdone
2. Scpan: combine ingr (hold out water, i dissolve 1/2t starch to it). When bubbly, i mix in water w/starch dissolve
3. Pour over brocolli (placed in plate) and sprinkle toasted seeds ---> next time, may try stirring the broccoli on top of the heat w/ the sauce

RECIPE:

4 cups fresh broccoli florets
3 tablespoons finely chopped sweet red peppers
2 teaspoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon water
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard

1. Arrange broccoli and red pepper in a steamer basket over boiling water.
2. Cover and steam 5 minutes or until crisp-tender; place in a medium bowl.
3. While vegetables cook, place a small, heavy skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
4. Add sesame seeds, and cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute or until toasted.
5. Set sesame seeds aside.
6. Combine soy sauce and remaining four ingredients in a small bowl, stirring well.
7. Microwave at high 45 seconds or until bubbly.
8. Pour sauce over vegetables; sprinkle with sesame seeds, and toss gently.
