Spicy Hoisin Marinade for Chicken

YIELDS: 2 tokwa, 1/2 of 1 block tofu
COMMENT:
Spicy and sweet from hoisin, tasted good. Top (not submerged from sauce) had a chewy outer layer. Marinade was just enough to cover most of the tofu
CHANGES:
reduce the recipe:
1/4 c hoisin ( i use in between 1/4-1/3c)
less 1/2 t pwdered ginger
less 1/2 t cayenne
1/2 T fresh minced garlic ( i use 3 Cloves)
1/4 t sesame oil
3/4 T honey
1/2 T soy
1 t rice vinegar
EQUIPMENT:
Mid rack, 7x3 loaf pan 325ยบ - 35min
PROCEDURE:
1. Combine marinade in liquid measuring cup
2. Cubed the tofu and placed carefuly in the loaf pan. Then pour the marinade.
3. Let it soaked at room temp. while i do the other recipes
RECIPE:
2/3 cup hoisin sauce
1-2 tablespoon finely grated peeled ginger
2 tablespoons minced fresh garlic
1 teaspoon hot red Pepper flakes (use more for extreme heat!
1 teaspoon sesameoil
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
2. Place the chicken in a large bowl or dish.
3. Pour the sauce over the chicken and toss to completely coat with the sauce.
4. Cover and refrigerate for a minumum of 6 hours or overnight.
